Stumbleupon

So... I got a Stumbleupon account and I am addicted!

This particular link was so shocking. I wish I lived in the early-mid 1900s!

and one more thing to help anyone who wants to lose weight and become healthier:

I recommend getting a Stumbleupon account, but watch out it can get addicting!
If you choose health, nutrition, food, and weight loss as interests some pretty awesome stuff comes up!

and just some tips I have discovered myself and have helped me along the way...

1.) remind yourself that no food is going extinct, if you don't eat the cookie at the party, its not the end of the world, you will see many more in your lifetime.

2.) measure things such as nut butters and cereal

3.) don't drink caloric beverages (this helped me sooo much)

4.) incorporate fruits and veggies into every meal and don't eat too many carbs (breads, cereal, pasta, rice), trust me, I cut my consumption of carbs by half, if not more, and replaced them with more fruits and veggies, and now when I eat too many carbs, my body can't handle it and I feel bloated.

5.) avoid trigger foods in entirety if you cannot just eat one or a few of something (mine are m&ms, grapes, pretzels)

6.) put everything on a plate if you plan to eat it, it helps

7.) don't wait too long to eat if you are hungry because then you will reach for anything you can find, healthy or not

8.) EXERCISE!

9.)  don't freak out if you gain a pound overnight, it's probably just water weight

10.) forgive yourself if you make a mistake, and learn from it

11.) read Bethenny Frankel's Naturally Thin, IT IS AWESOME

Happy 2012!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

My last meal of 2011 was the Grilled Salmon Salad from Brio.
My first breakfast of the New Year was a kikku apple and irish oatmeal with 1/2 tbsp almond butter.

Although I fulfilled my resolution from last year, there are a few things I still want to tackle about my eating habits...

1.) stop eating when I am not really hungry
2.) being able to control myself at parties instead of becoming fearful of what kinds of foods might be there
3.) I want to eventually be able to stop counting calories and eat intuitively.
